5th Annual Route 66 Film Festival - Sept. 16-17, 2006

The 5th Annual Route 66 Film Festival was held at the Hoogland Center for the Arts, 420 S. Sixth Street, Springfield, Illinois. Awards were presented for Audience Favorite Comedy, Drama and Documentary; Best of Fest, Best Documentary, Best Student Film, Best Debut, Best Thriller, and Best Feature. More than 20 filmmakers from Illinois and throughout the country attended.

Audience Favorite Documentary- Brandon Clayton's "For Glory and Gashes"; Audience Favorite Comedy- David McElroy's "We're the Government--and You're Not"; Audience Favorite Drama- Tyrone HuFF's "Call Me Sugar Plum"; Best Thriller- Vito Lapiccola's "Under My Skin"; Best Feature- Tom Snyder, Adam Galassi, and Tom Galassi's "Troubadours"; Best Debut Film - Jeremy Rush's "John Doe and the Anti"; Best Documentary - Daniel Garcia's "Drawings of War: The Testimony of the Children of Uganda"; Best Student Film - Travis Stoll's "Elegy of Falling Snow"; Best Comedy - Devi Snively's "Raven Gets a Life"; and Best of Fest - Stephen Keep Mills' "Cigar at the Beach."
